The growing appeal of Zip(tm) technology just got another boost for laptop owners as VST Technologies today announced a 15 percent price reduction on the company's most popular internal, removable notebook Zip drives - the VST Zip100.

The VST Zip100 drive uses standard Iomega(R) Zip disks - the long-awaited replacement from floppy disks - providing about 70 times as much storage as a 1.44mb floppy. In addition, the Zip100 is about 40 percent faster than an external Zip drive, providing a truly portable, personal storage solution, specifically designed for today's mobile users. VST Technologies currently offers the only ThinkPad Proven(tm) Zip drive for IBM ThinkPad models with UltraBay, as well as Zip100 drives for NEC Versa(R) equipped with VersaBay(tm) II and Apple PowerBooks.
With the new pricing, the VST Zip100 will carry an estimated selling price of $299.
