Marshall, how are you? My reponse and opinions: I know you must be in a good Datarace mood. In the mid eighties Franklin was about #23 of 100 in Business Weeks fastest growing companies it did pretty good I think until late 80's. This I believe was after CEO Peters bought it back after starting the company and then selling it to EXXON. Frank Peters has his name on this company "Franklin" and I personally believe the groundwork has been laid to create one fine bigger company with one caring CEO. You and I both know not just every small business gets snapped up by EXXON. Mr. Peters is a serious and shrewd businessman. Call him up tell him about you business and relay your questions to him. Remember Dr. Harg from Vector Graphics? Ask Frank about this... So far I am most impressed with Mr. Peter's honesty. Some of my friends have been in discussions with Frank for over a year. Not one of them have said anything to me except he is a straight shooter. I really meant to come over and congratulate you. Call Frank and check him out and better yet ask him what his tech credentials are and what any future plans may be in the works that he can tell you about. He plays by the rules, so I do not think you will get any "extras". Personally, I prefer a CEO who plays by the rules. Come to think of it Marshall, tell him what you do for a living, he may of something that you could use which you may find helpful. Through FNET where there is already an alliance with WCOM and GTE. Ask him just how serious he is about FNET. Ask him abou a POP where you are. FNET What it is and what his dream for it to be is. Ask what he did for IBM. Ask him who is Colin Patterson? The EE's I have asked about recognize the name. Plus look at the customer list and for goodness sake call Frank. I think you may have somethings in common. I am quite comfortable here in FTEL. Even at this price. So, "Mr. Told them all so". Congrats again! You deserved it. Your due dilly really paid off and I do know as you resident lurker that you worked and investigated. Check out Franklin's web site. Call the company. You really impressed me the way you worked. That is what I think it is all about: working to ferret out the facts. By the way Marshall, I think the smart monied around here who have done and continue to do due dilly are with Franklin. Now I will probably get flamed but that is what my due dilly says to me. Your favorite Datarace lurker for about 6 months, If you respond respond down at FTEL thread. Thanks Debra PS: You will probably find me on the FTEL thread after this as I own just a few shares of this DCTC which you assessed probably correctly. Also there is a large dispute around here which you may not understand. Suffice it to say the Jack of none may be aced and there is the rub. I am afraid it has already turned nasty. UGH - but I think maybe if we discuss only FTEL on the FTEL thread and the other on the other thread, we may get through it after all. Debra
