Rick,
I read an interesting theory recently that proposed that we live in universes created by beings such as ourselves; and that our natural tendency is to move toward creation of more such universes. We can look upon our own universe as kind of a Ph.D. dissertation. It gives no security given the Ph.D. candidates I have known; but I find the random nature of the event soothing.
Your concept that we may be 'flowers' producing some form of honey gestalt for other dimensions is interesting. Does that mean the sweetest flowers propagate the best; and to what ends the propagation? The theory is not that far out, and lies deep within our own traditions, although dresses in other motif. Witches, sucubbi, vampires, fairies, angels, and other beings of myth all react with man in some way.
I've read Science Fiction that approaches the concepts from different angles. I remember one where the beings/spirits lived in the high tension lines and gave us poor humans a bit of a sexual jolt every now and then to keep control and drain off some kind of essential energy. I read another where the guy realized he was inhabited by transient spirits and in his effort to rid himself of the beasties moved himself from penthouse status to skid row. Finally after living in a small cage for a week, he decided that they were just a part of life and that he'd rather trade with the critters who liked to live well.
Kundulini Yoga, or at least the part I am familiar with, works at releasing energy through the chakras and 'beaming' it up and out.....where in your becoming you meet these others who have already gotten to another level...maybe they are just sitting down to lunch, or finishing up, as you arrive...this is a very far fetched interpretation of the Kundulini thought... but the point is that many religions incorporate some concept of the theory you raised, though admittedly in more indirect and subtle ways.
From a strictly biological level I see us coming full circle. We are preyed upon by a host of organisms that love to set up shop within us. We fear these critter more than Lions or Tigers, and have for a long time. Though getting eaten by a Lion is much more dramatic than getting something like cholera and making a mess of yourself. The plagues and disease thing is one of my areas of reading and I've comment on it on the book thread so all I'll say here is that I believe our destiny as a race has been determined by our interaction with these little critters.
To return to your point, if one believed this it would be incumbent on them to act in the manner required to help 'the guys on the other side'. A great opportunity for a true seer, no? Or a flimflam man. Finally if we do feed a different plain with the result of our spiritual endeavor, I wonder what it would take to get their assistance in making better stock picks?
