Goddesses PLURAL? It must have been some weekend. You will outshine Johnny and Father Terrence with their eight-foot go-go girls if you are not careful.
I am reading a book by Carol P. Christ, Ph.D, a Yale divinity school graduate who is a former Christian who ultimately became a pagan and lives in Greece, studying the history of women and societies where women, and goddesses, were particularly revered. I have not read enough of it to really discuss it intelligently. However, this is where my own beliefs seem most at home, definitely. Modern paganism is not so much the belief in goddesses having magical power, but in worship of the earth, environmentalism, and general reverence for female energy, and life of course.
My glass piece is not really going as quickly as I would like. It is very difficult to cut the glass pieces where all the crystals and jewels are to be inserted. I definitely plan to post it on the web, and you will know as soon as it is ready to look at.
I think you have had a different experience with your writing than I did. When I was very sad last year, I really needed to write poetry, and when I did I healed a little bit every time, sometimes because the process made me cry so much. But in any event I did consider it cathartic. Of course, when you are done with a poem you are generally really done, and do not HAVE to revisit it, and with a narrative manuscript you are constantly rereading, revising, etc., which might bring back the very sad feelings.
What has happened to your accent, incidentally? Are you sure you are the same Ignacio who used to post here? |
