I can no longer keep in mind how many trillions the U.S. market is supposed to be worth. The funny thing is that a great deal of this is purely imaginary wealth. The inflow of cash to equity funds can continue to bid up the price of stock, and apparently most people think this is like adding money to a huge bank account. But as many of us keep saying, the minute any sizeable number of people decided that it's time to draw on that account, the account will go down by much more than what is taken out of it.

But the time hasn't come yet.
