Tom, no offense intended, but that post is the most idealistic that my cynical eyes have seen in a long time. As you said, with no tangible assets to seize,it is tough to get any lawyer interested in taking the case. And even more to the point, what politician would be willing to get involved in this? Politicians at the federal level are constantly trolling for money they call "campaign contributions". Where is the money for them here? And think about it. You suggest that they hold hearings and sponsor legislation to compensate GIFS stockholders. What makes you think the GIFS story is unique and that its victims should be made whole? Compensated by whom, the taxpayers?

Your comment that we did not receive the expected protection by regulators was right on the money. That then begs the question, so what? Who says regulators have to do a decent job? Certainly not Congress people who are consumed with their own money and power issues and don't want to catch their own political tits in a wringer like the Keating Five.

I think our own key to satisfaction will be a moral one rather than financial and will come at the hands of individuals such as yourself, Tonto, and Ken Todd who use what few law enforcers are interested in continuing this case.
