I know, I know. I'm kicking myself for not buying it in the 80s
during the breakout. I knew it was undervalued, but greedily
hoped for a pull-back to the 70s which never came. I almost
traded it from 99. For some reason I just don't like hardware
companies as much. One reason I'm fearful is that INTC
growth ultimately correlates 100% to new box sales, while
MSFT can keep churing out products even when the box
market is sated. I'm concerned at these levels that INTC
is trading on artificially inflated sales. I suspect that the price
policy change, coupled with Japanese entrants into the
PC market, help 'em sell a lot of chips as box-makers build
inventory. However, ultimately only a fixed number of boxes
will be sold, based on consumer demand, and we could see
an unusual slackening of INTC profits in the next quarter.
As always, my money's on "Dollar Bill".
