MARCH 6, 1998American Eco Industra Grows Backlog to $18.2 million inFebruary
HOUSTON, TEXAS--Michael E. McGinnis, Chairman, President and CEO
of AMERICAN ECO CORPORATION announced that its Vancouver/Seattle
based subsidiary Industra Service Corporation has added USD$5.0
million of new contracts bringing its backlog to USD$18.2 million.
In Canada, Industra's major projects include piping contracts at
the Scott Paper facility, New Westminster, British Columbia;
asbestos abatement at Burrand Thermal, and fire-proofing of the
Eaton Centre, both in Vancouver, B.C.
US projects include engineering, construction and management
contracts for: American Silicon, Wenatchee, WA; Weyerhaeuser,
Longview, WA; Boise Cascade, Wallula, WA; Mead, Mahet, AL;
Potlatch, Lewiston, ID; and Kimberly-Clark, Everett, WA.
Michael E. McGinnis, Chairman, President and CEO of American Eco,
stated, "All of the teams in engineering, management services and
construction at Industra, continue to build a solid base for the
year ahead, particularly as the Canada part of our service
coverage gains momentum from renewed strength in the industrial economy".

construction, management, maintenance, specialty fabrication,
engineering and environmental remediation services in the
refining, petrochemical, utility, forest products and offshore
manufacturing industries.
