dpl, In the MDCO situation Jon described it seems the last sale line was temporarily lagging for whatever reason. Otherwise, there is no reason the bid/ask and last shouldn't be current unless there is a technical problem. Another explanation could be that in fast markets, the specialists/MMs are more concerned with accurately reflecting the current market (bid/ask). But that doesn't seem to explain a lag of several minutes considering the 90-second rule on reporting trades. Don't know all the mechanics of the reporting process, though. Mark
