4th qtr earnings: (.09) vs. (.27); BV $1.59; the transformation continues.

As noted previously, due to the late qtr distribution and sales developments, the rev line is not going to get a consistent boost until probably 2nd/3rd qtr (although certainly some inventory accumulation by distributors this qtr should bump that line significantly on the next report). Since the 3rd qtr of '97, the company has more than halved their burn rate, effectively buying 6 qtrs or more in additional opportunity. That, IMO, is a very big deal, particularly given the appeal of their products. I believe we will soon see the 'street' accept the fact that the brutal uncertainty previously associated with this story is waning, and that the company now is very much on track to ramp sales and, dare I say, profitability. (Look at the cost structure: it doesn't take a boatload of sales to move to breakeven.)

Also note the brief synopsis of the company offered for the Nasdaq Investor Forum (released yesterday).

All in all IMO this mgmt has again proven to be focused and effectively executing the very aggressive strategy put in place a year ago. And although the work is far from over, so far so good.
