Sherman act may apply if DOJ claims that MSFT is using
its monopoly on desktop with Win95 to leverage into new
markets for server and PDA OS's with NT and CE. That is,
MSFT could be regulated in its marketing of NT and CE
because of the unfair advantage they have introducing
these products because they already have monopoly with 95.
I suspect the lawyers in DOJ advocating this approach are
very interested in testing new legal theories of application
of Sherman act to the idea that a monopoly could use its
power to leverage into a new market, something generally
not found in earlier legal interpretations and theories.
