The announcement of Nissan deal was low key but very significant. This is the second design win (after Ford) for OTEXF from the auto industry, this time it is a japanese giant.

The significance of this deal lies in the fact that Open Text's technology is rapidly recognized and deployed by auto industry, especially by a Japanese firm who has a reputation of being very conservative in adapting new technology like intranet. As a result, it is very likely other giants (Toyota/Honda/GM/Chrysler) will use Open Text's technology as well to be competitive. These deals are potentially very large simply because auto industry is one of largest in the world.

Also, Open Text will become more visible when Document'98 opens next week, we might hear positive news from OTEXF.

Today's new high in its 20's with 7x average volume is impressive, this is achieved quitely, it is smart money. It might move into its 30's soon when it becomes more visible.

Good Luck
