Example of Zip's growing acceptance...

All:

I work for an oilfield drilling and workover service company with headquarters in Houston, Tx. and offices in 10 or 12 countries around the world. The Company like many in this industry has been extremely slow to invest in new Technology... We just got e-mail a few months ago... As I was talking to one of the executives in Houston today he mentioned that his dept. just purchased 7 ZIP externals... I asked him why he chose ZIP over Syquest, Ls-120, etc... He said he had never even heard of those drives and wanted compatibility with clients and other divisions, etc... I asked him how he became aware of IOMEGA... He said recently he's seen alot of advertising on T.V., Newspapers, etc... and he's heard ZIP drives mentioned numerous times around the office...

I realize that this a very isolated case but if you knew this company you would realize what a big deal it is for them to go out and buy 7 ZIP drives... (They bought 50 Zip disks too)... I informed him about JAZ2 and he said he had heard of it and thought the Systems people were going to buy some...

Oh... He said all 7 have been installed and are up and running with no problems...

Small cases like this convince me more and more that "IT" is going to happen for this company... it is only a matter of when, not if...
