Surething, I don't believe the Boink thread inherently has anything more to do with education than it does with any of the MYRIAD variety of subjects which have been discussed here, including those English fat ladies with the cooking show, and eating thin slices of lard.
Certainly, some of us are amused by sweet and clever headlines, and some of us are fascinated with the game of beating out our friends and enemies for certain post numbers, the significance of which totally eludes me at the same time I am gladdened by the obvious glee of those who derive pleasure from it. Life is short--enjoy it!
Some of us speak in complete sentences, and some us make tentative little twitters. There are very good creative writers, such as you, Surething, who regale us with your wit and skill in writing fiction, and people who enjoy telling jokes or having big and little fights.
There are people here, obviously of extremely different political views, ideologies and theologies, wingers from the left and right, and maybe even a few commie pinkos and Nazi symps. Just like America!! Freedom of speech!!!
As far as the education discussion, someone brought up the subject, and other people kept answering consecutive posts, so there is obviously some interest. On busier news days, I suspect the subject returns more to the Clinton scandal(s), but there are some policy wonks here like me (Hillary would be proud), and concerned parents, and there is obviously a disagreement between conservatives, libertarians and liberals about the way we educate children, so if some of us want to discuss it, are you seriously asking us to leave or something? |
