Well you heard about the CPQ preannounce?

These people are facing stockholders like Paul Engel---people with incredibly unreasonable expectations who have hyped the stock to the max. Behind them is a crowd of investors who think the market always goes up, buy on every dip, and will badmouth anybody that says different. Its a pack of greedy pigs driven crazy by the smell of money. All of these companies are caught up in this frenzy of unreasonable expectations which they have to meet every quarter. It may be time for the engineers to go back to being engineers and stop playing with fire.

If you watch the advertisements on TV today, the brokers are trying to pull single mothers, construction workers, and sales clerks into the stock market feeding frenzy. Not to mention social security!

People are going to get crushed by this market. They are going to lose everything they have invested, all the profits that they made and didn't have the sense to take out of the market. The people on these threads are heavily invested in tech stocks and I would bet you that few of them have diversified their portfolios.

How many people are aware that your broker can change your margin requirement without bothering to tell you in advance? Give you say five days to come up with anything from 10 to 25% more money? Want to be squeezed out of the market? Buying on margin?

I would say that this market has given everybody at least three chances to get out. The fact that people haven't (and watch how they respond to this post!!!) is a wonderful market indication of what of is going to happen to this DOW P/E 22 market when the music stops.
