I was only looking at quarterly figures. They were from the intel home page story on 3rd qtr earnings. I did not verify your figures but don't dispute that intc has had capital buying binges in the past.
There was much discussion on this thread about intc recycling fab equipment from older lines to produce new chips such as ppro.
