Good question. The deal was to be the second leg of a large VRU installation where the first implementation was done with a smaller company with whom we weren't fully satisfied. We wanted to add voice recognition and obtain larger more efficient boxes. PERI had exactly what we were looking for and set up a few pretty elaborate demos including bringing in their top management to make sure we were satisfied. I remember bring very impressed with their floor operations - very efficient and tidy. The products were exactly what we were looking for, not too many bells and whistles. Their standard SLA was good. Our meetings were excellent, to the point where the order was prepared. However, as is common in large telecom companies the priorities changed and we weren't able to actually complete the order - consumer demand for the underlying product that was carrying our voice and data traffic failed to meet expectations and was eventually shut down so it became moot...nothing to do with PERI, in fact I've followed them off and on since then looking for a good opportunity to invest as I missed the last runup. To answer your last question, no, they never contacted us again.

I need to make more time to complete research and find out why PERI seems to have its act together in some ways but then lags the competition in others. I figured I should get in at a low price while the industry is gaining a lot of momentum. It does bother me that there's been no follow-through from 12. Right now it's dead money in a bull market that is especially a bull market for computer telephony. It may be that they may have good products and operations but not much in the way of active sales force.

Any other thoughts you have on this would be appreciated as well.

Phil
