Some class D Kiewit Stock- named after Kiewit Diversified Group, the former name of Level 3- already is being traded publicly. The exchange of shares on March 31 will not affect the value of shares already being traded. Level 3 said.
Class D stock will become Level 3 stock after the exchange.
Level 3 spokesmen Steve Inglish said that after the company is separated, it likely will seek to to change its ticker symbol to match the Level 3 name and seek a listing on the Nasdaq American or New York exchange.
Stockes traded on the bulletin board use Nasdaq's information system but don't meet the regulations and screening necessary for official listing.
