Now I am going to reveal my lack of technical knowledge but if it does not come from the coals where else does it come from? I know that gas can occur in sands but how does it get there? And if the sands are mixed in with coal it would make sense to me that it would come out of the coals into the sands. So someone needs to explain to me how methane gets into sands without coal? Does it come up from the center of the earth having been there since the planet cooled? I told you we need a geologist on this thread! Can coalbed methane and sand methane just coexist? Do they coexist in the other known coalbed methane fields? Does anyone have a relative or friend who can explain this to those of us who lack the proper background? Thanks.
