Most unfortunate you missed Pino. Interesting that he called. A hunch - Greenlaw is on the way out and Pino is doing all the talking for his company. Please try again (maybe around 9 AM EST) and pay close attention to the body language on any questions he does not answer. We need an edge. I would just sell instead of shorting. There is no difference in financial exposure that I can see. (There might be some esoteric issue of preserving a long term position now under water that you hope to recover on, with the favorable tax treatment, but I am not sure.) But I would first try to get to Pino, before doing anything. If as the controlling interest in the company he says nothing I would get more nervous. At a minimum, he should be able to tell you when they expect to have something to say.
