You have a good "eye". You should be posting this on the ALTR board. The problem is that the Vitesse process is basically single channel. The Altera/Xilinx programmable switch requires low impedance in both directions. This is not a simple problem to solve in GaAs. A simpler approach would be the antifuse technology (Actel). Perhaps you can suggest it to them, they need all the help they can get.
