Millicent is a payment system. It is also very complex. Wave is very focused on Content distribution. So let's try an example Joe the publisher wants to publish a newsletter. With Wave He writes the newsletter, He goes to great stuff and signs up for a publishing account (Publishing is currently Off-line for about a week) He encrypts the file and ends up with a .SMO file that can be posted anywhere on any web site including Joe's site. KEY POINT no server software required The consumer selects the content and gets a purchase screen from Wave KEY POINT no client software or plug-ins required I suggest that you down load the milicent White paper previously referenced and see if you can figure out how Joe publishes. This is a complex system that requires a lot of relationships. I think we as consumers will migrate to ease of use, The transaction system we like is "Click and the content arrives" the important technology is not the transaction but the Merchandising of the content.
