Barry, I'm beginning to wonder if the rebate game is a scam...here's how it would work. A manufacturer hires a company to handle the rebates. Payment is based on a percentage of rebates not having to be paid... So, the company employs the following tactics... 1. "Loose" a percentage of rebate envelopes. They can always claim that they never received them. Since the only original bar code was in the envelope, the customer is SOL. They also figure that the customer will forget about it since it's takes so long to process. The company provides a toll fre number but this is convieniently "busy" so the customer gives up. 2. In cases where they actually send a rebate they enclose in in an evelope that resembles junk mail with no reference to the original manufacturer. They calculate a certain no. of these will just be tossed in the trash bin. Even if the customer calls the toll free line, it's busy. A certain number of these customers give up... Of course, repeat customers might be a problem... Jim
