If MSFT wasn't as successful and wasn't as dominant as they are DOJ wouldn't be interested in them.
Sure, John. Then they probably wouldn't be much of a monopoly, would they?
Leaving aside for the moment whether antitrust law should exist (justified, I think, since nobody seems much interested in working on repealing the laws), what exactly do you think the antitrust division should be doing? Who should they be investigating? What company do I keep hearing about being poised to take over the world? Inevitably? I take the threat seriously enough, of course, though the inevitable part I question. If you think the world after the great Microsoft takeover is going to be such a pleasant place, I suggest you read Fred Moody's column of a couple weeks ago, archive.abcnews.com .
Of course, like the rest of you guys, Fred's mind is large and expansive and not hobbled by consistency. He, too, was enchanted by Bill's candor before the Senators.
Cheers, Dan. |
