I think there is some validity to Dave's proposition that the company can buy stock on the open market cheaper than they can give it to them as an option deal. This sounds reasonable to me and also an excellent hedge as it will be even better for them when they can buy it in single digits.

I also suggested in an earlier post the Aharoni and others could already be short after heeding your advice on this thread. Now when they buy back, they will be covering their own position at a handsome profit thereby funding a good portion of their share buy back. If true, they would not have to decimate the air conditioning business.

What is your opinion. Could this be financially lucrative for them? Is it ethical? You are much more qualified to pass judgement on this than I am.
