I can tell you one thing for certain: If Visual J++ 6.0 does not support Sun's JDK 1.1, it will be a huge failiue for Microsoft and it will backfire. On the other hand if it does support JDK 1.1 (on top of Windows specific features) then Microsoft has practically told Borland, Symantec and the rest of the major and smaller tool vendors that do offer a Java Development Tool to the market: "You guys better close your shops and go home and sell your stock while they are worth something, and retire!"

I personally do not know if J++ 6.0 does support Sun's JDK 1.1 or not. I was told (by Microsoft people a few months back) that it would support Sun's JDK 1.1. However things change with Microsoft so quickly no one knows what would the end result be!
