Unfortunately being mainly in cash now does not absolve me of having been in mostly cash my entire investment/savings career, I hope it will look smart some time this year, even the stopped clock... You say the "little people" seem to be cashing in a few chips...I would wager that there are some pretty smart money managers that have been reducing their exposure to equities these last couple years. Certainly, more famous investors have shied away to some extent, Buffet being the latest example with his bet on silver.
