WS, Actually, it worked the other way around when pcs were hot sales and components were hard to find. Compaq had plenty of product to sell at high prices and Dell had to scramble. Remember the infamous Michael Dell comment that "our worst problem is finding a decent source of DRAM supply." <G>

Let's face it, Dell got lucky this time. Let's see how long that luck holds with Compaq willing to make no profit at all to keep its market share. MB
