I've learned (the hard way) that there are certain stocks that no matter how tempting it may seem to short, you just have to pass by.

I feel this way about AAPL. Be afraid, Be very afraid just like you said. I follow it very closely and trade it long on occasion. Much to risky to short IMO. If certain pieces fall into place for AAPL you could really get killed.
