I am new to investing, but I have gathered from reading your Intel
threads on SI that Intel is a very sound investment. You guys have
exchanged comments on the forth-coming split. Hers's what I have
concluded. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Intel is prime for a split and it will likely be a 2:1 split. However,
Intel must seek shareholder authorization for the new shares first.
Otherwise, they only have enough authorized shares for a 3:2 split
which is not as desirable. To get the number of shares that Intel
wants authorized, Intel has to send the petition to shareholders for
a vote. After Intel gains approval, Intel's board may vote to split.

I understand the last split was over a year ago. Does anyone remember
the date of the annoucement and the date of the actual split? Also,
considering how many investors here are long time shareholders, how
far in advance of these dates was the vote to authorize more shares?

I heard a rumor from a friend who said he saw a report on CNNfn that
Intel is make plans for a 3:1 split. The source was an Intel insider.

Thanks, guys.

Warren
