Good point. I thought it was pretty funny how after the debate, the liberal media was at it again, putting their own little spin on the debate. I don't think Dole did much bashing at all. In fact, if anyone was slinging mud, it was Clinton, when he, for no reason, said, "Well that's when Senator Dole and Gingrich..." There was no reason to bring Newt's name into the debate, but we all know why Clinton did it--the old scare tactics never fail--I guess if something works, you stick with it! But after Clinton's Newt gaffe, the press says, "Oh it was Dole who was slinging mud...oh obviously Dole is so desperate...last ditch attempt to salvage his campaign..." That's BS, the only shot Dole took at Clinton last night was when he mentioned all of the White House staffers who have been investigated or indicted on all of the Travelgate, Filegate, Whitewater, etc--and what he mentioned was FACTS, not mudslinging.
Unfortunately, it looks like it will take divine intervention to put Dole in the White House. I'm sheepishly hoping that the RNC has an ace up their sleeve, and is waiting til the last week to play it. You know, something like Clinton being photographed bringing prostitutes into the White House, or Susan McDougal spilling her guts, or this Lippobank Indonesian guy being linked to organized crime. What's even more amazing is that, even if one of the above situations became news before the election, Billary would still be re-elected. I actually think that there are a lot of Ricki Lake-watching, Rosie O'Donnell worshipping pond-scum couch potatoes out there who actually admire Clinton for all of his character flaws--kind of like having Ricki Lake-type subject matter right there in the White House for their enjoyment and entertainment. Billary saves them money at the checkout stand--after all, why spend money on the National Enquirer and the other tabloids, when the best tabloid subject matter comes out of the White House. There is more adultery, drug use, back room deals and low-life charcters in this administration than in any of their favorite soap operas. Dole's life isn't as animated and entertaining as they would like. |
