Half of the above statement is incorrect. I do not feel that merely believing in God and more specifically Jesus, God's only begotten son, qualifies one as a Christian. Saying is one thing, acting is quite another. The first is true, I believe. The latter, however, cannot be attributed to me.
The second half of the statement is correct. I live in the Ozarks to be more specific which is the most I have or ever will be specific on the subject.

They aren't. Jesus never said to hate the sinner. He said to hate the sin. Two totally different things entirely. However, it is human nature to look at the sin and judge the person. This can be shown in the story of the woman at the well who was about to be stoned for adultery. Christ said those infamous words, "He who is without sin let him cast the first stone." I believe this can also be applied to those who engage in a homosexual lifestyle. Christians are not to hate the sinner, nor are they to judge sin, because in God's eyes no one sin is greater than another at least for the purposes of this discussion.
I thought the topic we are talking about was homosexuality, not the participants who engage in the activity. If it is otherwise, such as Christians who are engaging in this practice of hatemongering, than I would question their belief that they are even Christians in the first place. On that subject, I have no opinion. As to why God condems homosexuality, I can only say, because He says so. Further, God is about life. Homosexuality is anti-life simply because homosexuality by its very name cannot recreate life. |
