Good morning Sergio,Chris and all. Sergio, you made a joke about the global positioning collar for your dog(or maybe it wasn't a joke),but it may not be that far away<vbg>. BIAC's technology and ownership of that technology,IMO can be used in a way that could significantly change the face of probation/court order/monitoring in general. Think of the possibilities, pedofile/child abuse-the ability to track offenders within a few meters, anywhere on the globe, and be notified in seconds if that offender goes where they shouldn't,for instance a school zone. Spousal abuse/restraining orders-the ability to track the offender if they go where they shouldn't,for instance the home of the protected. Alzheimer's patients-ability to track and rescue( my grandmother's in the mid stages-she's fit as a horse at 88yo,but gets lost on here twice daily walks) Hospitals-ability to monitor newborns/guard from abduction( a company is already providing this service, doesn't necessarily require GPS) And the overall obvious benefits to the monitored individuals themselves(early release, more freedom, higher self-esteem, etc) and the relief of overcrowding in the existing detention system..Just some thoughts-I won't bog the thread down anymore<vbg>..DD PS: it's funny, everytime I think of this company,I picture James T. Kirk in the episode of Star Trek, where he was a prisoner with a collar around his neck that would choke him when he got out of line.<g> |
