Charles, I agree it would be a self defeating endeavor to only be concerned with who had the best. Leap-frogging competition will be the mainstay for years to come.

I was in early on IDTC in the mid 7's, unfortunately got out around 20, turned my head and adios amigo. They and VOCLF both are niche players and with global stature alliances.

What I laugh about is everyones concern about the competition. Contrary to opinion I view it as the most healthy thing that can happen at this time. The more people that are exposed to an alternative way of placing a call, the better. Just like gourmet coffee shops and espresso in the 90's. Back in the 80's Maxwell House, Folgers, and Juan Valdez's mule were it. As every street corner loaded up with jazzy little coffee shops everyone considering entering the biz was scared away due to saturation and unprecedented competition.
But it was this same onslaught of familiarity that was converting peoples tastes from the mundane to the exotic and tapping a market worth billions.

I see this as the hurdle in the big picture. And those that can provide clear, easy to use, and reliable IT service will be the pioneers that lay the groundwork to what could become the next communication revolution. Those that try to offer their services before they are perfected will only slow down the process, those that do provide toll quality will be the early leaders and capture their fair share of this promising technological revolution.

Then will come the consolidation phase where the telcos will step up to the plate, just like with the ISP's before them.

I'll be there with more then one in my portfolio, that's for sure.
