Hebrews 8:13

"When He said, "A new covenant," He made the first obsolete. But whatever is obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear."

There is no longer any benefit to anyone in the old covenant. Anyone who rely's on the precepts of the old covenant to draw near to God is doomed. There is no reason to believe the ark in God's temple you refer to is the same ark that was in the earthly temple, that's too far a stretch. His covenant now is His Son Jesus Christ. There would not be an ark for an obsolete covenant in His temple now.

John 14:6

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the father except through me."
