Hi bill:
When dealing with OBV you are looking for patterns. These patterns are formed by the upside and downside breakouts in the OBV. The most significant ones are always the last ones that occured. In WT's case these will be Fri.'s OBV on the upside and Mar 24 & 25 on the downside. For the trend to remain positive the upside and downside breakouts have to consistently form upward zig zags. The easiest way to learn is to apply it so as we go along it'll make more sense.
For charting I use both, my own charts I keep up everyday along with the OBV and software. I haven't totally converted and don't think I can as I find software charting not specific enough for my needs, but does make it more fun using both, and more accurate.
