China re: If you looked at the quarter end date for CPQ vs Dell, you'll notice that CPQ already completed 2 months whereas Dell has 2 more months to go. It's too early for Dell to make a statement on the earnings warnings, even if there is going to be one later.

With all due respect, the above statement is wrong. When both DELL and CPQ made their statements recently, they made them in the contents of what was happening now. CPQ sees inventory troubles now and reduced order flow, DELL who sees order flow and inventory in a 7 day windows, sees sequential increasing order flow and rev. now. From DELLS statement: "Basically, we're feeling about as good about our model and our direct (sales) approach as we ever have ... we're not
seeing anything unusual in our business trends right now," she added.
