Did Soundview also say that AMAT historical low was 1X sales??? that was when the outlook was truly bleak. that is not the case now. AMAT is still expected to have decent earnings. Not up sequentially, but then they just set a record last qtr. so using that qtr as a barometer is not entirely fair. None of the industry leaders trade the levels of their competitors; not AMAT or INTC or CSCO and for good reason. They earn their premium by keeping margins up when others are losing $$, keeping a nearly record backlog, and record cash. For anyone to argue AMAT should trade at historic lows at this point IMO do not have the slightest clue.
