This was on an AOL board. Unfortunately, there is no date, only a time. Thought I'd paste it for analysis.

Softbank Interactive Marketing Inc., acquired early this year by Internet investment firm Zulu-Tek Inc., is in the midst of a substantial restructuring that includes an overhaul of its business plan and a search for a new top executive.

The online advertising firm, which previously had focused on selling ad space on behalf of a handful of high-profile Web publishers, is accelerating its move into the broader field of online ad brokering in which it represents publishers and supplies the technology needed to place ads and track their performance.

"We are now very much focused on building proprietary technology on top of [our] proprietary network," said Ted West, executive vice president of development at Softbank Interactive Marketing.

The agency's change comes as it continues the search for a replacement for Chief Executive Officer Caroline Vanderlip, who resigned in January. Her departure followed the resignation of Softbank Interactive Marketing Chair- man Andrew Batkin.

Zulu-Tek acquired the firm from Softbank Holdings, the holding company for the U.S.-based operations of Softbank Corp., which owns Inter@ctive Week publisher Ziff-Davis Inc.
