Carl, the mutual funds of the twenties were called investment trusts one well known firm which is still well known had a trust that went from 100 to 1 . One of the most important similarities is both periods saw an inflationary expansion of money and credit which was reflected in the financial mkts not the ppi & cpi. Then as now most people were convinced the stock market was the place to be. I'm surprised the threads are so quiet after the INTC,MOT and CPQ pre-announcements- a sign ? of the bears capitulating because nothing seems to shake the mkt. I have a 1927 edition of Carret's book Chapter XXVII covers options and arbitrage! It read it so long ago I will take another look at it. Mike
