ZP, you make my earlier point strongly here. Buy to protect
existing investment; don't buy to enter new technologies
piecemeal with old ones. You will find the pieces you
buy aren't worth a damn.

Case in point: I have two 10/100baseT ethernet boards in
my current network, bought (expensively) to move up when
hub prices dropped. I have one 10/100baseTX, bought later
at 1/3 the price. Guess what: hub prices have dropped and
I have to replace my 100baseT cards because the hubs only
work with 100TX. You can't buy a 100baseT hub for under
800 bucks; you can buy 100baseTX for $130. Money thrown
away--these guys are operating at 10 megabits. Instead of
$220 I could have got them for $40.

This is going to happen if you invest in memory now with
the idea of using it tomorrow. Do I know this? No. But
my experience tells me it's the case. Wring out that
old investment and wait for the dust to settle.

By this cheery message you can tell I'm back operating.

Have sound problems, though. I'll post later if I need
help (which I think I do).

Regards,

Spots
