please correct me as i comment on the article you posted:

1. intel never said lower chip volume, in actuality it is not pc sales, but high-end pc sales that have slowed.

2. cpq sold a record amount of pc's, unfortunately competition (others selling pc's), has eroded into profit margins as has lower cost pc's.

3.mot, on the other hand has always been a gamble, and certain production problems (similar to asnd's old tnt problems) are there biggest problem.

4. how long did it take for someone to think of this analysis, real conviction?

So far, the stock market has absorbed the profit warnings
well, but this may not last without some sort of pullback,
analysts warn.
