If my analysis is correct, the only issue appears to be, how fast is the Direct Sales market growing relative to the retail and distributor sales market. I suspect the direct sales market is growing faster. Experienced buyers are more likely to buy direct than first time buyers. And, in my experience, Dell provides far better service regarding customer support and upgrades than any retail outfit I've ever dealt with. They have even suggested alternatives that would save me money!
