>>>hiring, quitting firing... i dont even know if you live where you say you live
In WSTLese firing does not equal layoffs, they did the latter not the former and they finally admitted, just recently, that some in engineering got the latter. That did not come out of the Faw press release. They have tried to inform their people past week and that it is good, but if you want a press release, it would be noble, but don't expect it. I am sorry if said I live in/ around the Naperville corridor, I meant to say that I work there, I LIVE much further away.
(I don't want to be spreading inaccurate information)
>>my analyst comment
What comment did I paste, I will remember not to do it again? As a moron, I shouldn't do that, but sometimes it is hard for me, especially when my BRAIN HURTS!!!
>>>as for seamens:
Please read my comments to David Lu. I must say can you provide the damaging quote in a press release or something, the misleading comments that he made to the public. I haven't followed the company officers' public comments that closely.
>> systems are more complex than the standard personal computer, but the model is the same.
You mean telecom systems sold direct to RBOCs with End-to-End connectivity, Network management and Remote Provisioning of the modem that meet all the stringent Bellcore stds. And sell w/ a min. 55-60% GPM is this same model as DELL? I am sorry, I did not KNOW. Guess I should pitch all this ADSL,T1,ATM,E1,PPP crap and become a DELL engr, what is it they do again? Oh yeah, when they bump up the speed of your COMS modem, they download a new SW package right to the end user don't they?
>>>PAIR and ALA not only have to design the system, they have to design the logic
That is precisely where the intellectual property exists for the whole system and is done that way in order to get those margins. TLAB did this with TITAN, among other products, and continues to do so with their next gen products. LU does so as well. I'm sure there are others.
>>no, i am not mad
Neither am I, I like the chat. But I want to tell you that my recently truthful albeit negative posts regarding employment issues will cease. There will be a several more defections near term but I am betting that mgmt is going to be true to their word (recent internal info suggests this) and improve the internal strife. I also believe them when they say that they will refrain from "Hype" press releases, so investors may want to heed that warning. the wait will be a while if you are looking for big ADSL $ translating to the bottom line. Be Patient is the new battle cry!
That's a hopeful good luck back to ya' Trey

Sorry to P.S. this but I couldn't help but see all of you guys go gaga over the LU 5ESS agmt. and just wondering if you have already bid up the stock for those 100mill new lines that are involved. Just how integrated of a DSLAM solution do we have here? Must be tons of WSTL guys working on it... er no I forgot that it just plugs right in!
Just need to know if its 120/220 VAC, -48VDC or better yet a huge 5V load sharing PS output for all those ADSL line cards!
