Brian & B.B... some observations concerning AMAT. 21 of 22 analysts have downgraded the stock recently. Does anyone know who the 22nd analyst was?
The Asia problem will not get better in the for seeable future--and it may not get worse. It may just stay the same. Four months from now Indonesia and the IMF may be doing another monetary dance.
The technology revolution will continue with or without ASIA participating. Possibly China will step in to become a tech powerhouse to replace Korea. They do have the money and the determination to achieve such things.
Even if CPQ ,Dell and Gateway start a price war, its the drive and modem makers that will see the red ink. INTC will do just fine no matter how many thousand dollar computers are sold. There are just too many Americans that don't want to drive a YUGO.
By the time all the AMAT thread readers realize that the tech stocks are past the bottom and aren't going to Zero (aka. jtechkid) the rally will be half over. Buy AMAt now or buy it later at a higher price.... or buy some K Mart or Wal Mart and consume fewer antacids.I do believe in freedom of choice when it comes to investing. About now all of our crystal balls could use a good cleaning with windex. Good luck this week long and shorts alike.... Jerome
