RE: <<George....give us your thoughts on tomorrow's trading range>>.
You've mistaken me for someone who knows something...., but I certainly enjoy making wild guesses like the rest of this thread.
First, to predict tomorrow, you have to understand the street's perception of too many things (my guess in parens.):
1. CPQ's future growth prospects (pretty good)
2. DEC's synergy with CPQ (pretty good long term, painful short-term)
3. High tech in general (very shakey right now, good later)
4. 401K/Baby boomer money flow (temporary slow down?)
5. Buy dip mentality (lots of scared cash out there)
6. When CPQ will be riding high on the next upgrade cycle or the next killer app. cycle. (less than market limit of 6 months???)
7. How the general market does in the face of all this since the index funds have to hold all 100, 500 or whatever (riskey)
8. etc. etc. (flip several coins)
Add them up and my talking 8-ball says a range of 18-23 Mon. and Tue. But my talking 8-ball isn't rich and isn't invested in the market. I'm sitting on a small 25/30 straddle (and some 35 calls left over from another straddle) and can just enjoy watching (I'd probably sell my 25 puts if CPQ flattened out at 18.
Good luck,
gd
