Okay, Thomas, I did bookmark the gay Bible thing. Whoa!!! That pinkish lavender is a bit bright so I think I will read it tomorrow, but it looks like it might have some interesting information.
I have absolutely no fear that I might be wrong about Jesus. I am not saying that I am right, incidentally. The truth is that these are all belief systems, and no one really knows until they die. I just feel that if there is a God, who knows everything about all of us, then that God knows that I have struggled to be a good human being and a loving parent, and have tried not to damage the earth and to live lightly on it. So if there is a God I think that he would be a fair God, and let me go to Heaven.
I also have enormous respect for Jesus the man, and believe that modern Christianity, particularly the more rigid and conservative elements of it, have somehow lost the essential messages he was trying to teach about love and tolerance, and that if Jesus were trying to decide about me, he would not hold my beliefs against me.
And finally, just a logical question, where would all the many millions of Buddhists and Moslems and Hindus and Shintos and Jews and everyone else go? It is difficult for me to imagine a universe where the God of the Christians, who are not even the religion with the most people, is in total control of everyone.
