FWIW, I've just looked at a series of charts comparing DELL, MSFT, and SUNW stock prices over the period since the October "event" last year. With some variation, these three were tracking each other rather closely, especially since Christmas. Then, right around the end of January SUNW began underperforming the other two. I think CPQ announced it was merging with DEC on Jan 26. I wonder whether there's a connection -- perhaps the market "believes" CPQ/DEC will take sales from Sun (I think it will go the other way, as potential customers question CPQ's dedication to Unix and the workstation market, especially in light of CPQ's newly revealed difficulties). It will be interesting to see whether Friday's announcement by CPQ will alter perceptions.

JMHO, and not investment advice.
