Burt:

I believe your estimate is understated. Worldwide demand for Pentium and Pentium Pro chips is growing. Even though this quarter is expected to be flat, by Intel's own admission the year should be strong. When I spoke with the Investor Relations people at Intel last week and suggested a 1996 earnings per share figure of $4.50, I was told this was a reasonable number. Using this figure, and assuming a multiple of 15, puts the stock price at $67.50. Since 1997 earnings should be well over $5.00 (perhaps closer to $6.00 per share, this same multiple would yield a stock price of $82.50 (at $5.50 per share earnings). I predict that INTC will be at least $85 by yearend.

Just one man's opinion.
