<<But the CLINCHER is, that even if that DOES happen sooner, the value of WCII to ANY IXC goes WAY up as a result.>>

<<Moreover, the value of WCII's fat pipes makes them then all the more compelling for ANY RBOC. In short, this would be a very GOOD thing for WCII.>>

What? Huh? This double-talk is hilarious. Let me get this straight. RBOCs developing a high-speed data network that is unbundled and priced at TELRIC is good news for WCII? That is an insane interpretation only a knee-jerk bull could make. The value of WCII goes WAY down to any IXC if the IXCs can buy UNE's from RBOCs at TELRIC. Why buy WCII's technically suspect network (which has LOS and reliability problems) when you can get an error free fiber optic pipe with no off-net OSS problems?

The customers I have spoken with do not like WCII's off-again, on-again reliability and are becoming sceptical that wireless -- with all of its atmospheric problems -- is the way to go. Wire-based solutions are the only way to get error-free transmission and reliability.

SteveG -- go ahead and keep thinking that the resurgence of the RBOCs is good for WCII. Your and WCII's complacency will help us pass you by.
